The long table below contains all known bookings of the crossBeaTs from 1963 to 1975 (~700 of them).  The founders of the group were members of St Leonard's church Bootle, from where many of the early songs that they played came from.  The group began playing together from the summer of 1962 onwards, and the first booking we have record of was in January 1963.  The group was called at first the "Seekers", but with the coming to the UK of the Australian group of that name, a new name had to be found.  So, in September 1964, the name was changed to the crossBeaTs.

The information below about bookings, from the first record of one in January 1963 to those in 1969, is extremely accurate as personal diaries (journals) have been used.  Much of the later information, however, is incomplete.  Group booking diaries have been used for much of the information after 1969, and these may contain a few provisional bookings that were not actually undertaken - or they may not contain bookings that were taken on at the last minute.  Some diary entries also convey little information - eg "Bradford".  On occasions, there was no group diary so that, for example, some entries in the list are from leaflets or index cards (records of bookings) that were available, or from the records of expenses that were kept - so that much may be missing around the mid 1970s.  Conversely, we have some details of some bookings that cannot be placed in the booking list below (as they are undated).  For this reason, the total number of bookings undertaken by the crossBeaTs could be in the region of 800-1000.  A statistics page shows the frequencies and trends in known bookings over the years.  There is also a page with some limited video footage (cine film).

We are also uncertain whether some bookings were coffee bars, church services, concerts or other forms of outreach.  Where possible, the list contains the names of any other groups that played at the same meetings, as well as the speakers and organisers.  Any help to correct or clarify any part of this list, to add some detail about the meetings and personalities involved, or to add links to individuals or organisations still in existence (!), would be much appreciated.  If you can help, then please
